Layered Woodcuts

I’ve been combining monotype with the fish tail woodcut I made in Terry’s class.  The first layer was a repeat pattern of the woodcut, in orange Akuakolor Intaglio ink.  Then came a couple of plates using the thickened dyes I use for printing the scarves.   I chose areas to print the woodcut, cutting up the larger background sheets.  You can probably notice when I used the press, and when I used a barron to print.

I love this one – it looks like the fish is jumping out of the water.[sthumbs=392|391|390|388|383|384|386|394|382,160,3,n,center,]
