When I came to printmaking, I was so excited by the simplicity and directness of the process every time I pulled a monotype off the press, that I hardly wanted to even move on to learning more techniques!
Yet, with each new technique I discovered more possibilities for expressing myself with increasingly sophisticated and varied images.
Printmaking fits so well with interests such as photography, painting, fiber arts and more. I found a natural extension for the skills and tools I had already developed as a fiber artist, always experimenting with dyes and paints.
What a luxury to now have our own great studio and press!
If you would like to see our studio & our work, please join us for an Open House on Thursday July 1st from 5 to 7pm.
Lise and I want others to enjoy and share in the same excitement we have found as we discovered printmaking.
With the assistance of Sunghee Park, a masterful printmaker and teacher, we are starting a weekly series of hands-on demonstrations that allow you to discover and experience first hand a range of printmaking processes.
Starting July 21st, from 5:30 to 8:30, we will hold sampler workshops. Every Wednesday, we will explore a different printmaking technique. The fee is $25 per session, and that includes the materials for your take-home projects.
Come to one workshop or to all. We’ll post the details for each workshop here, so you can pick and choose which fit with your goals and way of working
We would love to share the fun and play we found in printmaking with you.
Please plan to join us at our open house on Thursday July 1st from 5 to 7pm, and see why we are excited to share the thrill of printmaking with you.
